Wolts Personalization team is responsible for creating a tailored experience for Wolts customers across their shopping journey helping them to discover the best restaurants dishes or items that match their culinary and shopping preferences across multiple premises such as Discovery In Venue or Checkout.

We build and maintain the recommendation systems that power these experiences in real time for millions of users across more than 30 markets. For example the team is responsible for the models that rank restaurants in Wolts Discovery page venues in Wolts category pages or items in Wolts in-venue and cart premises. It also personalises other components in Wolts shopping experience such as brands banners or food categories that are relevant entry points for our customers to explore Wolts assortment.

The team is multidisciplinary including software engineers applied scientists ML Engineers. Together we own the ML-powered personalisation stack integrations across Wolts platform and the systems that turn customer behavior and data into meaningful dynamic and engaging experiences.

What youll be doing

As a Software Engineer in Wolts Personalisation team you will:

• Design build and scale backend systems and APIs that deliver personalised experiences to millions of customers every day.
• Work closely with ML Engineers and Applied Scientists to integrate models into robust high-performance services.
• Improve reliability and performance of the real-time recommendation stack ensuring low-latency responses under high traffic.
• Contribute to the teams technical architecture driving improvements in scalability observability and developer experience.
• Champion code quality and engineering best practices and mentor junior team colleagues.
• Take ownership of the end-to-end software lifecycle from design to deployment and monitoring of the services you build.

Our humble expectations

Solid experience inbackend software development (the team uses Python & Go).A strong understanding of distributed systems microservice architectures and API design.Experience building high-performance services ideally at scale with thousands of RPS and strict latency with containerisation and orchestration (Docker Kubernetes) and cloud-native development (AWS GCP or similar).Experience integrating with or supporting ML or data-driven systems in production is a understanding of observability monitoring and debugging distributed collaborating in cross-functional product teams balancing technical quality with user communication and collaboration skills you enjoy mentoring pairing and sharing knowledge.
