As our Health Safety & Environment Manager you will provide leadership and direction across our precinct Pullman Novotel & ibis Budget hotels to ensure we deliver on all Health Safety and Environment (HSE) strategies initiatives and compliance requirements. You will be responsible for embedding a strong safety culture coordinating environmental and sustainability initiatives and guiding our leaders to create a safe and supportive workplace.
Your role will include:
- Developing implementing and monitoring Health Safety & Environment strategies and policies.
- Managing incident reporting investigations risk and security assessments and accident prevention.
- Leading WHS Committees audits emergency response procedures and compliance training.
- Overseeing workplace rehabilitation and ACC processes.
- Driving environmental initiatives sustainability projects and ESG reporting.
- Providing accurate monthly reports and metrics to support strategic decision-making.
- Coaching mentoring and guiding leaders and team members to embrace proactive HSE practices.
This is a pivotal role where you will engage with a variety of stakeholders internally (leaders team members Accor colleagues) and externally (WorkSafe NZ ACC auditors insurers and governing bodies).
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a Health & Safety role within hospitality or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of NZ Occupational Health & Safety legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead WHS initiatives audits and compliance requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal coaching and influencing skills with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- High level of personal integrity empathy and ability to manage sensitive matters with confidentiality.
