Job Summary

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Full-Stack Developer to work on our Embedded Systems Development team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Research Education Campus (REC) facility in Idaho Falls ID with every other Friday off.

In this role you will be responsible for developing software solutions as part of a development team. This role requires a deep understanding of our network and network elements a passion for coding and good user experience and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and maintain system applications with a focus on both front-end and back-end functionalities.
  • Design and implement user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks and libraries (e.g. React Angular ).
  • Develop and maintain server-side applications database interactions and APIs.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
  • Implement security and data protection measures.
  • Manage and maintain databases including schema design queries and indexing.
  • Troubleshoot debug and upgrade existing software.
  • Write clean well-documented maintainable and efficient code.
  • Collaborate with other designers developers testers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality products.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Communicate needs effectively with other team members in Agile/Scrum sprints.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Level 1: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Level 2: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution and at least 2 years of direct/professional experience. A Masters of Science in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Fluency in front-end languages such as HTML CSS and JavaScript.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks/libraries like React Angular or .
  • Proficiency in server-side languages such as Python Java Ruby PHP or .
  • Experience with database management systems like MySQL PostgreSQL MongoDB or Oracle.
  • Proficiency with Linux command-line and bash scripting.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance which requires US Citizenship.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Full-Stack Developer Front-End programmer Linux Administrator Back-end programmer or similar roles.
  • Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with GitHub and/or GitLab.
  • Experience with C.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud.

Job Information:

  • The pay range for this position is: Level 1 ($65064 - $133416) / Level 2 ($77628 - $159228). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education relevant experience and other credentials.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this classification the employee may be required to stand walk sit stoop kneel bend use hands to handle materials manipulate tools keyboard and type reach with hands and arms and operate job-related equipment. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds with assistance.
