RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Chicas Youth Advocate Assistant plays a creative and hands-on role as a collaborator in our Chicas Youth Development Program (YDP). This assistant supports the Youth Advocate in implementing culturally responsive and age-appropriate curriculum across elementary middle school and high school level. The Advocate Assistant attends events and activities representing the Chicas Program and Adelante Mujeres. In addition to attending events and activities representing the Chicas Program and Adelante Mujeres they also help plan organize and provide support to ensure their success. Their contribution fosters a collegial and productive work environment. This position reports to Chicas Program Coordinator.

  • Support Youth Advocates in the delivery of up to four after-school sessions lasting 90 minutes each week in Forest Grove Hillsboro or Beaverton School Districts
  • Provide administrative support by assisting in parent communication and event coordination by providing valuable support in making phone calls ensuring clear and effective communication channels
  • Support with recruiting supervising and mentoring participants in collaboration with Chicas Advocates
  • Support with the coordination and implementation of specific Chicas projects such as Summer Camps
  • Support with data entry tasks ensuring accurate and organized records

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong commitment to the mission of the organization environmental sustainability employee well-being and support for immigrant and BIPOC communities
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with a wide range of people including excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English
  • At least 1 year of administrative experience
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications
  • High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills; strong time management and prioritizing skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of experience working with the Latine community
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with youth in a classroom or program setting

Additional Requirements:

SALARY & BENEFITS:

  • Salary Range: $23.95-25.00 per hour depending on qualifications
  • Classification: Full Time Hourly
  • Telework: up to 2 days a week
