Patient Care Tech (PCT) - Emergency

Work location: Texas Health Southwest - 6100 Harris Parkway Fort Worth TX 76132

Work hours: Part Time Days for 24 hours/week (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM). Weekend and holiday requirements

ED highlights: Our experienced and compassionate multi-disciplinary team in our Emergency Department cares for roughly 170 patients per day on our 43-bed unit. We offer self-scheduling for our Nurses which provides you with more flexibility and a nurse-to-patient ratio will depend on the acuity and area within the are a Magnet designated facility Joint Commission certified in chest pain heart failure and stroke Emergency Center of Excellency by Emergency Excellence and Texas Ten Step Member Mother Friendly Worksite.

Heres What You Need

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent .

Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency .

PCT Training Program TX CNA NHA NAHP NCCT accredited community college program or a THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire. Upon Hire Or

EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) Upon Hire Or

Other Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program Upon Hire Or

Other 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification. Upon Hire And

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly And

CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days .

Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment positive interpersonal skills and good verbal and written communication skills.

Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.


What You Will Do

Provides patient care and assistance based on the plan of care and patient/family preferences.

Collects and reports patient data supports admission transfer and discharge processes.

Performs technical procedures safely and documents care accurately.

Collaborates with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations and cultural needs.

Maintains a clean safe environment and proactively meets patient and visitor needs.

Demonstrates teamwork flexibility and effective communication across disciplines.

Participates in process improvement adheres to safety goals and advocates for patients.
