About the role

Were looking for a People & Operations Associate to be the engine behind the engine the go-to person who keeps our people systems and spaces humming. Youll be the right (or left!) hand person partnering with our VP of People & Operations Michael and will touch nearly every part of the company: people ops recruiting IT office management finance and exec support!

If you love variety solving puzzles and helping others do their best work this role will feel like home. Youll balance tactical precision with heart setting up a new laptop in the morning planning a surprise celebration in the afternoon and knocking out some accounts payable by the end of the day.

This isnt a narrow job. Its an invitation to learn everything about how a company runs and to help shape how ours grows.

What you will do

People Experience & Culture

• Bring our culture to life through employee experiences and evolving team activations like townhall meetings happy hours lunch and learns and other fun in-office excitement

• Be the friendly face (and Slack emoji) that makes everyone feel supported and included via various internal communications and awesome documentation in our internal wiki

• Support the execution of our quarterly on and offsite retreats that bring meaning and power effectiveness for our teams

Office Management & IT

• Keep our hybrid workspace welcoming well-stocked and technically smooth (our Wi-Fi should always purr like a kitten except faster!)

• Manage tools equipment and vendor relationships with precision and a dash of flair

• Solve little problems before anyone even notices they exist

Recruiting Operations

• Coordinate interviews manage candidate communication and ensure every candidate leaves their onsite interviews feeling the magic of PG

• Support the evolution of our recruiting process by revamping our Ashby configuration and developing on-demand training content for hiring teams using NotebookLM

• Help us evolve our talent brand by creating a portfolio of content for us to share people and culture news on company social channels like LinkedIn

Executive and Finance Support (25%)

• Provide ongoing exec support to Probably Genetics founder and CEO Lukas accelerating his impact ensuring he always shows up prepared and on time to key meetings around the world

• Support expense tracking invoices and new vendor setup via Ramp

• Support key inputs gathering for routine financial analysis that help us optimizing our spend

Who you are

We are looking for a few specific things that will help you succeed in this role:

• 3 years of experience the most recent 1-2 years in operations office management or people roles ideally in a startup or other fast-moving environment.

• A proactive doer with a no job too small mindset and a deep love of learning.

• Organized detail-obsessed and always one step ahead.

• Tech-savvy you move easily between Google Workspace Zoom Notion Slack and various AI tools.

• A kind thoughtful human who finds genuine joy in making things (and people) better

Some things that are not required but you will learn on the job:

• AI obsessed and are constantly looking at ways to balance human relationships with automation to power effectiveness and unlock more time for creativity

• A keen eye for design whether its in picking out the perfect color of paint for a conference room or designing a LinkedIn post in Canva you like making things shine

As with all new hires at Probably Genetic you will also need to be:

• A good person. We work with some of the most marginalized populations on the planet and empathy is key

• Patient-focused and motivated to have a lasting positive impact on humanity

• Comfortable in a fast-paced often ambiguous environment with rapid change

• Action-oriented and excited to build a company from the ground up

The salary range for this role is $65000-$100000 annually. Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: work experience education skill level and/or other business and organizational needs. This is an onsite role that requires 4 days in office in San Francisco.
