The Year 6 Teacher will be expected to attend planning sessions prior to January 2026 participate fully in induction in January 2026 and lead teaching from January 2026.
Role summary - Year 6 Teacher
As Year 6 Teacher you will be responsible for securing excellent outcomes in reading writing and mathematics for your cohort. The Year 6 Teacher will design high-impact revision sequences deliver small-group interventions and oversee transition arrangements with secondary partners. The Year 6 Teacher will manage assessment cycles and prepare evidence for governors with much of the initial preparation taking place before January 2026 and continuing through January 2026 and beyond.
Year 6 Teacher Requirements
Qualified teacher status (QTS/PGCE or equivalent) and demonstrable experience as a Year 6 Teacher.
Strong assessment data-analysis and impact evidence as a Year 6 Teacher.
Availability for pre-service planning before January 2026 induction in January 2026 and to teach from January 2026 in the Year 6 Teacher role.
Year 6 Teacher Responsibilities
Plan and lead effective sequenced lessons and intensive revision sessions as the Year 6 Teacher.
Deliver targeted interventions and track progress as the Year 6 Teacher.
Coordinate transition and liaise with parents and secondary schools as the Year 6 Teacher. The Year 6 Teacher will begin key documentation ahead of January 2026 and will be fully engaged from January 2026.
