Through an online platform and didactic support aula fosters
democratic practices and skills. Young people starting at around age 12 learn in practical ways how they can make meaningful changes in their environment through commitment and responsibility.

Position: Working Student (20h/week)
Contract: Limited for 12 months with the prospect of extension
Location: Berlin
Company: aula gGmbH
Tasks
What you will do:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of backend services using PHP (Laravel).
- Troubleshoot debug and improve existing systems to enhance performance and reliability.
- Contribute to code reviews testing and documenting of new features and services.
Requirements
What you should bring:
- You are currently enrolled in a Masters program in Computer Science Software
Engineering or a related field - You already have some professional experience as a software developer
- You are familiar with modern object-oriented PHP 8.3
- You are confident using SQL databases (we work with MariaDB)
- You have strong understanding of HTTP principles and experience writing RESTful APIs
- You have strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g. Git)
- German and English language skills level B2
- You are a team player with good communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
This would make you stand out:
- Additional Front-End DevOps or IT Security skills
- You are familiar with Clean Architecture or Domain Driven Design concepts
- Experience working in hybrid teams
