Job Title : Mainframe COBOL Developer (JCL DB2 AWS Postgres Kofax Java)

Location: Blvd NE Atlanta (Onsite - Local to Metro Atlanta)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification

Mandatory Qualifications

• Strong experience in COBOL development on Mainframe.
• Proficiency in JCL development and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with COBOL DB2 JCL and Control-M.
• Experience preparing comprehensive program-level and user-level documentation.
• Proficiency in Postgres database.
• AWS hands-on experience.
• Experience with Kofax.
• Java programming knowledge.
• Ability to troubleshoot test and debug software to ensure accurate outcomes.
• Strong analytical skills for supporting non-database functions correcting data errors and creating data analysis/summary reports.
• Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle (design development integration testing deployment).
• Strong communication skills to coordinate user sign-off prior to production deployment.
• Ability to follow organizational procedures for source code management and migration.
• Commitment to improving software efficiency and reducing operating time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting legacy-to-web application migrations.
• Familiarity with IBM and Microsoft reporting or data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Translate analysis design documents and specifications into well-structured programs.
• Maintain and enhance custom-developed software including screens batch processes reports queries and menus.
• Review existing code data and business processes to support non-database functions.
• Execute program testing: update test files run tests analyze results and validate correctness of changes.
• Identify and correct data errors using application logic; create data analysis and summary reports.
• Support the conversion of COBOL applications to web-based applications.
• Prepare detailed documentation for both system users and developers throughout the SDLC.
• Enhance software performance reduce operating time and ensure compliance with organizational guidelines for code management and deployment.
