Our client is currently seeking a qualified Field Service Technician to join their team in Tampa FL and provide end-user support. This is a 4 to 6 month contract role with the possibility of converting to a full-time position based on performance. The successful candidate will provide onsite technical support to multiple store locations and assist with hardware/software installations troubleshooting and lifecycle servicing. A valid drivers license and clean driving record will be possessed by the ideal candidate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite desktop laptop printer POS and peripheral hardware installation maintenance imaging and repair
- Troubleshoot software issues including Windows Office 365 and store-specific applications
- Manage ticketing system updates: log track escalate and close support tickets
- Perform adds moves and changes (AMCs) for user workstations and peripherals
- Maintain accurate inventory tracking and control of equipment and parts
- Assist with basic network tasks (cabling connectivity checks) and Smart Hands support in store locations
- Deliver technicians support across shifts and coordinate with store staff and remote support teams to ensure operational consistency
Required:
- CompTIA A certification or equivalent preferred
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of IT support field service or desktop technician experience
- Familiarity with Windows OS Office 365 PC hardware installation / troubleshooting and ticketing systems
- Strong customer service communication and time-management skills
- Ability to lift and move desktop equipment (typical 40 lbs.)
- Experience with retail environments POS systems or store-based IT support preferred
- CompTIA A certification or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work off-hours or weekends if required during project periods
The rate for this position is between $17.00 - $20.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market skills education experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
