About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation AI-driven solutions for insurance carrier integration. This role will play a critical part in shaping our core platform capabilitiesleveraging artificial intelligence to accelerate carrier connectivity streamline quoting and underwriting workflows and drive automation across the commercial insurance distribution ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in enterprise system integrations AI/ML technologies and scalable SaaS architectures combined with hands-on leadership experience guiding engineering teams through complex technical initiatives.

What Youll Do

Architect & Lead Integration Work

Design and oversee scalable secure and reliable carrier API integrations (REST SOAP EDI ACORD proprietary carrier systems).
Define patterns frameworks and reusable services to accelerate onboarding of new carriers and lines of business.

AI & Automation Strategy

Develop AI/ML pipelines to extract normalize and map submission and policy data (ACORD forms loss runs SOVs proposals).
Collaborate with Data Science/AI teams to embed LLMs and vector search into underwriting workflows.
Evaluate emerging AI models and frameworks to ensure practical cost-efficient adoption.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

Serve as a hands-on technical leader writing high-quality code and setting engineering best practices.
Mentor senior engineers on AI system integration and distributed architectures.
Partner with Product Carrier Relations and Operations to align integration roadmaps with business goals.

Platform & Infrastructure Ownership

Drive performance scalability and reliability improvements across the integration and AI pipelines.
Collaborate with DevOps on AWS-based infrastructure (EC2 Lambda S3 Bedrock Step Functions API Gateway).
Ensure compliance with data security SOC2 and industry standards.

Technical Expertise

Proficiency in (Python experience a plus).
Strong knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs event-driven systems and microservices.
Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines LLMs and vector databases (e.g. MongoDB Atlas Vector Search Pinecone Redis).
Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).

Leadership: Proven ability to set technical direction mentor senior engineers and influence cross-functional teams.

Mindset: Pragmatic collaborative and passionate about using technology to transform the insurance industry.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with commercial insurance quoting/underwriting platforms.
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in insurance data processing.
Hands-on experience with Quasar/Vue front-end frameworks.

Qualifications :

Experience: 10 years in software engineering with 5 years in a senior/principal role.
Domain Knowledge: Strong background in insurance carrier integrations ACORD standards or related InsurTech systems.
