Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified clinical educator to support the delivery of high-quality learning and teaching in our medical program. Our Lecturer (Teaching Focused) in Clinical Education will be expected to make informed contributions to the teaching effort of the School of Medicine and Dentistry and to carry out activities to maintain and develop scholarly and/or professional activities relevant to the discipline of medicine.

The successful candidate will be expected to perform the full academic responsibilities and related administration in support of the development coordination and delivery of courses in the Doctor of Medicine. Specifically a primary focus will be on the development delivery and assessment of safe evidenced-based procedural skills for medical students.

They will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical teaching to medical students with a focus on developing teaching and assessing safe evidenced based procedural skills. 

The incumbent will support the Schools educational mission in relation to the medical program. They will contribute to the implementation of high-quality learning and assessment activities in the Doctor of Medicine program. They will also contribute to the broader mission of the School through scholarly and service activities as negotiated with their Academic Supervisor.

This is a continuing part-time (0.4FTE/40%) and offered at our Sunshine Coast site delivering learning & teaching activity at the Sunshine Coast Health Institute. The position may also be available as a job-share arrangement (0.2FTE x 2) to accommodate clinical commitments.

As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations. Griffith Universitys campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul Yuggera Jagera Turrbal Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

The Sunshine Coast site is located on the land of the Kabi Kabi and Jinibara peoples.

Salary Range
The part-time equivalent base salary for a 40% FTE at the Academic Lecturer (Level B) ranges from $45290 - $53784 per annum 17% superannuation. The total part-time package will range from $52989 - $62927.


Qualifications :

We are seeking applications from candidates who possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Possession of a medical degree from a recognised educational institution; and
    Ahpra registration or Aphra registrable clinical qualification.
  • Possession of a doctoral or masters qualification of equivalent accreditation and standing and/or professional fellowship; or significant progress towards completion of a masters or doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or field or professional fellowship is a desirable criterion.
  • Experience in teaching in an undergraduate or postgraduate medical program.

In doing so you will contribute to enhancing the Schools learning and teaching environment in support of an outstanding student experience.
