POSITION PURPOSE
The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for the management of the pharmacy patient service area and all related activities. This role will assist with the dispensing process of prescriptions at the direction of the Pharmacist.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive new or refill prescription requests from patients and distribute prepared prescriptions to patients or their representatives.
- Verify and update patient registration information ensuring accuracy and confirming any changes since the last visit.
- Respond to telephone inquiries regarding prescription refills and general pharmacy-related questions.
- Direct patient counseling requests providing guidance and directing more detailed medication questions to the Pharmacist.
- Reconcile the cash drawer daily and prepare deposits and records for the Finance Department.
- Assist the Pharmacist in returning unclaimed medications to inventory ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required.
License/Certification: Valid North Carolina Drivers License required.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Proficient in computer systems.
- Highly organized with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort interacting with medical providers pharmacists pharmacy staff and patients.
- Prior pharmacy experience is preferred.
HIRING RANGE: $15.00 to $18.00/hour
