Job Summary

Part-Time Nanny/Family Assistant Position in Cuckfield RH17

We are seeking a proactive reliable and experienced Part-Time Nanny to provide essential after-school and morning support for our two girls aged 12 and 10 who attend school in Hurstpierpoint.

Key Details

Location: Cuckfield RH17
Hours: 20-25 hours per week 3 days per week.
Ideally Mon Wed and Thursday OR Tue Wed Thursday.

Core Hours:

Mornings (approx. 7:00 am - 8:00 am for drop-off) and Afternoons (4:30 pm - 7:00 pm).
Additional Hours: An extra 2 hours per day will be added to the morning or afternoon shifts to reach 20-25 hours/week dedicated to housekeeping and family support duties (see below).
School holidays 9am - 6pm - 3 days per week.

Start Date: Ideally December.

Role & Responsibilities
The primary focus is the care safety and encouragement of the children with additional duties to ensure the smooth running of the household.

Childcare Duties

School Runs: Morning drop-off (8:00 am) and afternoon collection from school in Hurstpierpoint.
Homework Support: Providing encouragement and structure for daily homework.
Child Organisation: Ensuring school bags and sports kits are ready for the following day.
Meals: Preparing and providing healthy meals for the children.
Nursery Duties: General care and attention to the girls needs and activities.

Family Support / Housekeeping Duties

(A cleaner is employed for the weekly deep clean).

Household Organisation: Ensuring the 4-bed house is tidy and organised at the end of each day. Please note: A professional cleaner is employed for deep cleaning.
Wardrobe Management: Monitoring the girls clothing for fit and organising their wardrobes.
Linen: Changing the childrens bedding
Errands & Shopping: Handling light household errands and food shopping as required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is flexible dedicated andsuper reliable.

Experience: Proven experience caring for school-aged children and running a family home efficiently.
Mindset: Mature outlook proactive and able to use initiative to see what needs to be done. A strong work ethic is essential as the parents are 100% reliant on this support to manage their demanding professional roles.
Driving: Driver essential ideally with their own car. Mileage will be paid.
Parking is available at the family home.

Flexibility:

If the applicant requires a minimum of 25 hours per week this can be accommodated by including one evening of weekly babysitting (by arrangement).
A flexible attitude to pick up occasional extra hours for evening babysitting or weekends (when parents travel) is a bonus.

Compensation

Salary/Rate: 18 - 20 gross per hour depending on experience.
Benefits: Mileage paid for school runs and errands.
