As a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer you will serve as a technical leader and expert in conceiving designing developing and integrating complex electrical systems for Medtronics innovative Cardiac Ablation Solutions products. This role provides a unique opportunity to work on challenging projects mentor team members and shape life-changing technologies. You will work cross-functionally with teams in mechanical engineering software development quality assurance and manufacturing to drive projects from concept through commercialization with a focus on technology development. Your work will help Medtronic achieve its mission of alleviating pain restoring health and extending life for millions of patients worldwide.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead the design development and testing of mixed-signal electrical systems and circuits for medical devices ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory standards (e.g. IEC 60601).
Develop detailed specifications schematics and PCB layouts collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to meet design and performance requirements.
Develop technical specifications for design and production identify and mitigate risks and test hardware conformance to specifications; may include designing new or modifying existing products.
Lead technical project planning establish timelines define deliverables and proactively identify and mitigate potential project risks.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
OR Masters degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
OR PhD with 6 years relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
Deep experience with all phases of mixed-signal board design including architecture circuit design schematic capture component selection PCB layout and design verification
Strong electrical signals and systems fundamentals including frequency domain representations and circuit analysis
Extensive experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools
Extensive experience using lab test equipment (e.g. multimeters oscilloscopes logic and network analyzers) for system integration debugging and testing
Experience designing testing and implementing high-voltage systems (5 kV)
Experience in designing and testing medical equipment within a regulated industry and familiarity with 60601-1 safety standard
Ability to work in an agile development environment
Interest in gaining an understanding of cardiac electrophysiology
You are a proven influencer and exhibit skills in driving large scale technical initiatives.
Interest in new technologies coupled with the ability to quickly learn and apply new tools and techniques as needed
Focus on accuracy and precision in technical tasks which is crucial for quality and reliability
