Our Chester MT Pharmacy Team is looking for a part-time (20 hours per week) Pharmacy Technician to join them!

This position is based out of our Logan Health Chester pharmacy and Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist will assist the Pharmacist in providing medications to appropriate clinical staff at Logan Health. It is expected that the Pharmacy Technician will work within their scope of practice (non-clinical) to provide exceptional customer service quality patient care and assist the Pharmacist with technical and clerical aspects to ensure patient safety.
Qualifications:
Must meet all of the qualifications for the Montana Board of Pharmacy Technician application.
Upon employment must satisfy one (1) of the following:
Must register with the Montana Board of Pharmacy as a Technician-in-Training (Provisional Temporary Pharmacy Technician) and commit to becoming nationally certified within 12 months of hire to continue employment.
Possess an active Pharmacy Technician licensure with the Montana Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in good standing.
Technician training program preferred. Prior health care experience preferred.
RQI First Responder required.
Proficient typing skills required.
Must have an understanding of medical terminology and calculations. Must have fluent knowledge of medication brand and generic names.
Prior experience in Pharmacy Systems and Electronic Health Records preferred. Possess ability to learn other software as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact professionalism and diplomacy.
Excellent organizational skills detail-oriented a self-starter possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
Job Specific Duties:
Understands and completes all aspects of medication distribution from the pharmacy to all areas assigned including but not limited to; inpatient and/or outpatient dispensing. These duties may include but are not limited to:
Filling the automated dispensing system and utilizing the bar code scanning. Filling patient drawers in all nursing units.
Delivering medications in the most efficient manner to all areas assigned.
These duties will be supervised and verified by a pharmacist and/or technician that is currently a tech-check-tech technician.
Completes rounds according to current policy. This includes delivering and retrieving medications debiting and crediting medications to patient specific accounts to ensure accurate billing. This process will be coordinated with other pharmacy personnel to meet the immediate needs of the pharmacy department.
Promptly and efficiently answers telephone calls responds to inquiries and routes appropriately as needed.
Performs all tasks associated with maintaining the pharmacy inventory. This includes but is not limited to:
Ordering receiving and shelving medications.
Documents and communicates drug shortages.
Monitors the pharmacy inventory for out dated medications and disposes according to current policy.
Exhibits a working knowledge of all pharmacy computer systems as required by location.
Maintains a neat and orderly environment. This includes but is not limited to:
Cleaning duties.
Medication disposal
Trash disposal
Actively continues education to keep abreast of Pharmacy law and to maintain current licensure.

Shift:
Variable (United States of America)Schedule:Part-time 20 hours per week. Schedule is variable and could include days Monday - Friday and Weekend days. Shifts may include days and some evenings as late as 7pm based on pharmacy and scheduling needs.
Scheduling can be flexible.
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
