Job Summary
Revere Public Schools seeks an individual with strong public engagement skills to serve as a Parking Attendant. The Parking Attendant is a member of the building security team and plays a critical role in maintaining a safe welcoming and secure parking garage essential to overall campus security.
REPORTS TO both Building Principals however the Garfield Elementary Principal will be considered the lead Supervisor of Record and daily supervision may also be provided as needed by Garfield Assistant Principals.
DUTIES include but are not limited to the following. Additions and modifications to these representative duties and responsibilities are under the purview of the Superintendent of Schools and the School principals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
SCHEDULE COMPENSATION & COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT: This is a part-time employment-at-will position not subject to collective bargaining. The Parking Attendant will work 2 hours per day 6:30 a.m. 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday throughout the typical 43 week school year (186 days) determined by the school calendar announced before the start of each new school year. Rate is $21.56/hour

- Opening the parking garage on time each scheduled work day.
- Checking the garage each day for safety issues or other concerns and promptly reporting them to the school building administration.
- Greeting staff and visitors ensuring access privileges prior to admission to secured areas and directing unauthorized guests to other parking options.
- Operating garage gate mechanism.
- Monitoring garage arrivals and departures.
- Recording and maintaining license plate information.
- Sweeping the garage entry area on a daily basis including removal of other light debris throughout the garage that may pose a hazard to pedestrians or vehicles.
- Ensuring the garage is secure before leaving at the end of the shift.
- Assisting with other tasks as assigned by the Principal to support a safe and secure campus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma GED or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills cultural sensitivity professionalism and respect for others at all times.
- Ability to enforce rules and regulations.
- Strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
- Visual acuity and ability to push pull reach bend lift as well as to stand and move about for extended periods of time (up to two hours) to perform job duties in all weather conditions including exposure to cold during the winter months.
