Opportunity

Brunswick Group is seeking an exceptional Director to join its market-leading Litigation & Dispute Communications practice in London. This is an opportunity to play a senior role within a globally recognised team that advises on some of the most complex high-profile and high-stakes legal matters faced by major international businesses.

The successful candidate will work closely with the global practice co-lead in London supporting existing client mandates as well as helping to win lead and deliver new projects. The role combines strategic counsel hands-on client management and cross-disciplinary collaboration across Brunswicks global network.

About the Role

The Director will provide strategic communications and reputation advice to clients involved in contentious legal or regulatory issues including litigation investigations arbitrations prosecutions public inquiries and broader disputes.

Working alongside legal teams external counsel and corporate affairs functions you will help clients safeguard and enhance their reputation during critical moments of scrutiny.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Managing client relationships and major litigation and issues mandates.
  • Working with the team to design and execute integrated communications strategies spanning media investors employees regulators and policymakers.
  • Helping to guide clients through legal and reputational risk ensuring alignment between communications and legal strategy.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary Brunswick teams across sectors geographies and specialist areas such as media digital and public affairs.
  • Mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.
  • Proactively finding opportunities to market and raise the profile of the practice and the firm externally.

What Were Looking For

We are looking for a senior adviser with exceptional judgement intellectual agility and the ability to operate confidently in complex fast-moving situations.

Essential skills and attributes:

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking with the ability to interpret complex legal and reputational dynamics.
  • Proven experience of advising senior clients and managing multi-stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to craft persuasive arguments and narratives under pressure.
  • Organised detail-oriented and adept at leading multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Deep understanding of the intersection between law media politics and public / stakeholder perception.
  • Facility for building trusted client relationships.
  • Commitment to acting with integrity and the highest ethical standards.

Likely backgrounds include:

  • Senior communications consultant specialising in litigation or reputational crisis advisory.
  • Senior associate in a dispute regulatory or competition practice at a leading law firm.
  • Barrister with experience in high-profile commercial public or criminal law proceedings.
  • In-house senior legal counsel with exposure to significant disputes or investigations.
