Your role:
This role provides an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to take on this newly created position as a Place-based Development Officer for Children and Young People.
You will be working with a broad range of partners and sectors in the Mid Suffolk locality to support the implementation of the Sport England Place-based approach developing and enhancing the Sport & Physical activity infrastructure workforce and wider community health & wellbeing outcomes.
In addition you will specifically ensure effective collaborative partnership working developing key relationships between partner organisations education settings and the local community in a whole systems place based approach to support the Health & Wellbeing of local communities in the Mid-Suffolk area.
The role is funded by Sport Englands Place Universal Offer and is in partnership with key local organisations including Mid Suffolk Council Suffolk County Council Public Health & Communities and Active Suffolk.

How youll work
We know the world has changed and we offer our employees the chance to work in our office space whilst enjoying the convenience of working from home.
Active Suffolk has adopted a hybrid approach to give staff more flexibility on working arrangements. We work countywide and so some travel will be involved in this post and a flexible approach to working hours is required.
It is envisaged that this role will require significant time spent in the Babergh and Mid Suffolk locality.

Your office base
Our main office is based at Riduna Park Melton and is located directly opposite Melton train station with direct train links to Lowestoft and Ipswich. There are bike shelters and showers available on site.
Frequent travel to Mid-Suffolk will be essential for the role and joint working arrangements with key partners in Mid Suffolk will be confirmed once the post holder has been appointed.
