Job Summary
The OpportunityThe Analytics Engineer is vital to the OCMO Digital team! The Analytics Engineer will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to define and achieve strategic objectives by prototyping advanced data models using dbt and ensure the highest quality standards in data accuracy and reliability. As a data authority within the domain they will guide the creation of comprehensive data definitions and support the technical documentation process. This role also involves partnering with data analysts and visualization authorities to understand requirements and ensure adherence to department standards and practices.
Essential Functions
- Works with a cross-functional team to understand functional product requirements and deliver on strategic data and analytics initiatives.
- Completes thorough quality assurance procedures ensuring accuracy reliability trustworthiness and validity of work.
- Functions as a subject matter authority for data sources within the departments scope of responsibilities.
-Supports the development of technical and business definitions for all data products.
- Collaborates and partners with data analysts and data visualization developers to understand data extraction and transformation requirements and complete functional and technical documentation.
- Follows department guidelines and standard practices to leverage existing tools and methods to efficiently develop modeling solutions and ensure that work is not duplicated and is appropriately transitioned between teams.
- Helps identify potential bottlenecks within the development life cycle and propose approaches to overcome them.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree Related Field of Study required or Masters Degree Related Field of Study preferred
- Can we review and consider experience in lieu of a degree Yes
- Experience querying complex data structures using SQL 3-5 years required and Experience working with healthcare data 1-2 years required

- Excellent interpersonal skills including proficient customer service orientation and the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Advanced SQL skills.
