of Job Duties:The Diesel Technician II is responsible for the safe timely repair and maintenance of heavy-duty transit vehicles passenger vehicles and other fleet vehicles used in transporting passengers to specific destinations within the City of Fayetteville Arkansas.

Regular reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

AND

  • Completion of a Diesel Technology Certification or equivalent

OR

  • At least five years of experience in vehicle maintenance or a related field


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Advanced specialized or technical training

  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and Passenger Endorsement or ability to obtain itwithin the first six months of hire

  • ASECertification

  • At least one year of heavy truck/ transit maintenance experience
