About the Role:

Were searching for a Senior Accountant to join Remitlys Global Accounting Operations team. As a senior accountant on the Accounting team you will be a key contributor to the companys financial statements by supporting the month-end close process and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

You Will:

Prepare payroll-related journal entries for the general ledger across multiple subsidiaries.
Reconcile payroll-related accounts including wages payable payroll taxes and benefits expenses.
Perform month-end and year-end closing activities related to payroll.
Prepare and file monthly tax returns in compliance with local regulations.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll operations and efficiency.
Support ad hoc financial information requests audit requests and special projects as assigned.
Analyze trends and variances in payroll-related accounts and financial system outputs.
Ensure compliance with internal controls policies and procedures maintaining proper audit trails for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate accounting for monthly accruals and new business initiatives.

You Have:

Bachelors degree in accounting and 3 years of experience
Payroll Accounting Experience is a plus
Knowledge of US GAAP required
Strong technical accounting background
Experience with streamlining processes and/or design and implementation of accounting policies automation and procedures
Experience working in NetSuite or similar ERP systems is a plus
Experience analyzing and working with large data sets and familiarity with data management tools such as Excel and Alteryx
Strong alignment to our mission and values
