Job Summary

What Youll Do:

Specifically theStorekeeper 2 will:

  • Receive inspect sort store & distribute stock & supplies throughout the facility: inventories & orders supplies medication &/or equipment; receives inspects stores & distributes items; completes & maintains shipping receiving & inventory records; prepares or oversees preparation of requisition orders.

  • Assists in preparation of storeroom budget; operates pharmaceutical repackaging equipment to count fill package cap &/or label medication bottles &/or packages; oversees maintenance & maintains repackaging equipment; oversees maintenance of lot numbers & expiration dates.

  • Labels &/or prices stock items; samples materials for laboratory inspection & approval; transports & provides security over inmates; unloads trucks; operates forklift &/or other equipment to move & store stock or equipment; supervise youth staff.

  • Perform other duties as assigned (e.g. participate in organized functions within facility & DYS attend meetings seminars &/or trainings related to area of expertise etc.).

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition subtraction multiplication division fractions & percentages; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. inventory control; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. OSHA &/or other safety standards & practices applicable to storeroom or warehouse addition employees working in a drug central warehouse or storeroom must pass security screen.

Job Skills: Store Management

The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background checkthat includes results from BCI & FBI Public Safety and State of Ohio individual assessment of an applicants prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.

All new candidates hired to the Department of Youth Services must partake in paid mandatory 4 weeks of training. Week 1 is held at CJCF weeks 2 through 4 are held in Orient Ohio 10-hour training days Monday through Thursday.

DYS is a qualifying employer for the purposes of the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program
