If you are an accounting professional looking to grow your career in a dynamic and collaborative environment Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our St-Louis office you will play a key role in supporting the financial close process maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.
You will work closely with the Controller and Accounting Manager to prepare journal entries perform reconciliations assist with intercompany transactions and support audit activities. If you are detail-oriented proactive and eager to develop a well-rounded accounting foundation this role is for you!
Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries reconciling accounts and meeting reporting deadlines.
Prepare accurate and timely journal entries for accruals prepaids fixed assets and other recurring and non-recurring transactions.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and research and resolve variances.
Assist with the preparation and review of monthly accruals to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Record and reconcile intercompany transactions assist with eliminations and ensure proper documentation.
Support the Accounting Manager and Controller with financial analysis and investigation of discrepancies.
Prepare schedules and documentation to support internal and external audit requests.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in documenting procedures and controls.
Participate in ad hoc projects and initiatives as assigned.
This is a full-time position that follows standard business hours. Some extended hours may be required during month-end close or audit periods.
Hybrid Work Arrangement:
This role is hybrid eligible with the expectation to be in the office at least three days per week. Colleagues are encouraged to demonstrate a collaboration-first mindsetworking together in person as needed to best serve our customers. You will have the opportunity to work with your team and leader to determine your in-office days based on business needs.
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
13 years of accounting experience preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite JDE Oracle).
Strong attention to detail organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Legal authorization to work in the United States Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
Experience with month-end close processes.
Exposure to intercompany accounting and consolidations.
Desire to pursue CPA certification (preferred but not required).
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
