Description of assignment
Within Vanderlande High-risk activities exist with critical H&S controls. Although these are known we do not always execute our own way of working and have to take additional risks to complete the work. Currently it is not defined when we accept a higher risk or when we must STOP work and implement control measures before restarting the work activities. We require guidance within Vanderlande on this subject to empower the organization to actually STOP work activities when it becomes too hazardous. This guidance should focus on all layers of the organization and include all high-risk work activities. Once these guidelines have been defined an implementation framework must be developed to implement these guidelines into our processes and into the organization.
Department description
The Corporate QHSE department supports the Vanderlande organization on Quality Health Safety & Environmental topics. The team consist of 14 employees divided over the different disciplines. One way of doing so is by developing and implementing occupational safety requirements within the different domains of the business. It works alongside of the domains to promote a safe and proactive work culture as well as defining the minimum level of occupation safety for the overall organization.
Tasks/responsibilities
- Map out critical safety risks and control measures including potential gaps and improvements.
- Define those critical measure with which the work activities cannot be completed.
- Work together with the respective domain QHSE team members to detail these out into guidelines.
- Develop a Corporate Vanderlande standard for this and embed them into the Vanderlande process.
- Develop an implementation plan (e.g. instructions training R&Rs) to instruct the domains on the new guidelines.
- Nice to have: implementation of said guidelines.
Your profile
- Background in occupational health & safety
- Affinity with technical safety
- Proficient in English language (global structure)
- Knowledgeable on high-risk work activities such as:
- LOTO
- Working at heights
- Electrical safety
- Lifting operations
- Work equipment & tools
