The Town of Brooklines Department of Planning and Community Development is seeking a Community Preservation Planner to manage the Towns Community Preservation Act (CPA) Program. Working under the direction of the Assistant Director for Regulatory Planning this position plays a key role in coordinating CPA funding cycles administering program finances and supporting the Community Preservation Committee (CPC). The Planner will help ensure that CPA resources are distributed equitably across affordable housing historic preservation open space and recreation priorities in Brookline.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in urban planning or business/public administration and two years of experience in community preservation act town planning grant management or related field. Masters degree highly desirable; or any equivalent combination of education training and experience. Valid motor vehicle operators license required.
Candidates should have knowledge of CPA regulations and related fields such as affordable housing open space planning and historic preservation along with strong analytical organizational and communication skills. The position requires the ability to interpret architectural plans evaluate project proposals and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is essential; experience with design or mapping software such as Photoshop Illustrator InDesign or GIS is preferred.
