Assistant Professor Pediatric Mental and Behavioral Health Physician Scientist

Position Description:

The Department of Pediatrics Division of Pediatric Psychology & Developmental Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Childrens Wisconsin (CW) seeks a board certified / board eligible psychologist to join our expanding Division. We are comprised of nationally and internationally renowned dedicated group of faculty and staff with a strong commitment to clinical care.

Position Highlights:

• Primary responsibilities include conducting research in infant and early childhood brain development as well as related clinical patient care including psychological evaluation. The scholarly focus will be on developmental clinical neuroscience with a specific emphasis on infants and young children born prematurely and/or at risk for poor developmental outcomes. Research includes collaborative research studies using EEG and eye tracking in this patient population.
• Clinical 25% including psychological evaluation and care of infants and preschoolers born prematurely or at risk for poor developmental outcomes
• Research 75%
• Qualified candidates will have a strong publication record in this research field and be well positioned to be highly competitive for an NIH K award or ESI R01
• This will be a collaborative position with faculty and researchers in Pediatric Psychology & Developmental Medicine Neonatology Mental & Behavioral Health and other fields
• Locations the position may work in: Childrens Center for Child Development Wauwatosa and Childrens Wisconsin Milwaukee campus
• Performs other duties as assigned by Chair or Chair-Designate.

• 1.0 FTE/Mon-Fri 8:00-5:00 with flexibility in schedule

Department/Division Highlights:

Pediatric Psychology & Developmental Medicine is comprised of more than 45 faculty along with APPs and dedicated research staff. Division faculty deliver all levels of training as part of our mission to teach the next generation of providers. Our Mental & Behavioral Health research program is co-located with our Center for Child Development to encourage clinical research collaboration.

Qualifications:

• PhD or PsyD from an APA-approved psychology program.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Psychologist in Wisconsin.
• Experience in child/adolescent/pediatric psychology assessment and therapy practice (familiarity with cognitive achievement attention executive functioning memory emotional and social assessment measures).
• Strong collaborative skills and a passion for interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful finalist.

Childrens Wisconsin and Childrens Specialty Group

Childrens Wisconsin is an independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children. The hospital with locations in Milwaukee and Northeast Wisconsin is recognized as one of the leading pediatric health care centers in the United States. Childrens Wisconsin provides primary care urgent care emergency care specialty care mental and behavioral health services community health services foster and adoption services child advocacy services and health insurance plans. Each year the Childrens Wisconsin team has more than 6.5 million touchpoints with kids and families through medical care advocacy research and Northeast Wisconsin Childrens Wisconsin is expanding its services to provide increased access to outstanding pediatric subspecialty care.
