The Recovery Technician will be relied upon to visit client sites across the province to collect and transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials. As a professional driver with a safe driving record this the Recovery Technician will utilize TDG knowledge and experience to assist with labeling containers and preparing transport documentation. Frequent travel is required and the chosen candidate must have the ability to do overnight trips up to three days at a time.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate all required transport equipment
- Professionally represent GFL on all client sites and look for ways to expand services
- Ensure all assigned equipment is properly loaded and maintained
- Communicate effectively with a team of qualified professionals
- Participate in safety meetings last minute risk assessments and job hazard assessments
- Identify and classify all types of hazardous waste
Requirements
- Class 1 or 3 Drivers License with a clean drivers abstract. Willingness to obtain a Class 1 license if required
- TDG knowledge and experience is an asset
- Able to work independently
- Willingness to travel with frequent overnight trips
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Customer service experience
- Self-motivated attitude
- Experience working in a safety sensitive environment
