The Technical Training Manager (Molding Division) is responsible for leading the full training organization that supports LEGO Manufacturing Virginias molding operations. This role advises Global and Local Trainers ensuring training programs are delivered to the highest standard and aligned with global requirements molding performance goals workforce flexibility and functional priorities. As the system owner for CHAMP LEGOs global training platform the Training Manager maintains visibility compliance and certification across the molding workforce.

Core Responsibilities:

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead coach and develop a team of Global and Local Trainers ensuring clarity of role accountability and high-impact delivery.
  • Build and grow the training organization including recruitment development and capability building of trainers.
  • Provide direction mandate and representation for all matters related to molding training.
  • Lead performance evaluation employee development and other People Processes for the training team.

Training Strategy & Deployment

  • Translate business plans MWBs and molding initiatives into a structured training roadmap with measurable deliverables.
  • Act as a training methodology expert ensuring high-quality standards in delivery and effectiveness.
  • Deploy global training programs locally using a train-the-trainer model to integrate seamlessly into molding operations.
  • Define and maintain processes KPIs and visual management systems to support organizational goals.

System Ownership (CHAMP)

  • Serve as the system owner and administrator for CHAMP within the Molding Division.
  • Ensure accurate training matrices onboarding flows skill requalification and certification records.
  • Partner with PPC and global learning teams to continuously improve system usage compliance and data quality.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Oversee the creation validation and maintenance of technical training materials in collaboration with SMEs and Technical Writers.
  • Ensure consistency accuracy and adherence to LEGO standards in all learning materials.
  • Support audits and compliance through robust documentation control and traceability.

Global & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build strong global relationships across LEGO sites leading efforts to align training approaches content and standards.
  • Actively promote coherence and collaboration between factory sites and across departments.
  • Partner with Production Managers Shift Leaders Changeover Teams Engineering LCI PPC and HR (L&D) to identify needs and allocate resources.

Continuous Improvement

  • Track and analyze training KPIs (e.g. completion rates time-to-competence workforce flexibility).
  • Implement tools to ensure transparency of training progress across shifts and areas.
  • Drive continuous improvement in trainer performance workforce flexibility and training effectiveness.
  • Lead and manage large-scale training projects or cross-functional initiatives independently.

Do you have what it takes

  • Bachelors degree in relevant technical operations or learning discipline (required).
  • Proven experience in manufacturing or molding operations with at least 3 years in a leadership role focused on training capability building or people development.
  • Experience in greenfield projects or ramp-up manufacturing environments with a proven ability to establish training systems and organizations from the ground up
  • Hands-on experience in delivery training operational coaching or direct involvement in molding/production processes (required).
  • Proven experience in building and managing a training organization (including recruiting developing and evaluating trainers).
  • Prior experience leading large projects handling conflicts and influencing cross-functional stakeholders with minimal support.
  • Certifications in LEAN TWI Job Instruction instructional design or technical/process training.
  • Experience working in global manufacturing environments with multi-site collaboration.
  • Proficiency in CHAMP (or similar LMS) for training management and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of SAP MES and other digital production/training tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office visual dashboards and KPI reporting tools.
  • Proficiency in crafting and implementing systems for visualizing training progress.
  • English fluent level
  • Note: This position is based at our LEGO Virginia manufacturing factory located in Richmond. This is not a remote position.

The salary for this position has a range of min 100799 to max 151199 annual based on anticipated responsibilities market benchmarks and organizational constraints. The definitive compensation may vary in alignment with the selected candidates professional background experience operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details inclusive of benefits will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.

The salary for this position has a range of $100799.00 - $151199.00 based on anticipated responsibilities market benchmarks and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors including but not limited to prior experience skills expertise location internal equity and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details inclusive of benefits will be communicated upon finalisation of the employment offer.
