Surgical Tech

Position Summary

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. Reports to the Director of Surgery/OR.

Essential Functions

Additional Information

Patient Populations Served: Neonate Infant Early Childhood Late Childhood Adolescent Young Adult Middle Adult Older Adult.

Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic Clinical Insurance Financial Complete Medical Record.

Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present.

Physical Requirements: Frequent standing walking lifting/moving patients and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards including blood and bodily fluids hazardous medications and latex.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and/or abilities required.

Education:High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; Graduate of a surgical technology program preferred.

Experience:Minimum of 6 months prior experience in another facility.

License/Certifications:Certification from clinicals completed required; BCLS preferred.
