SCPS is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide direct data-driven behavioral support to students with significant behavioral needs throughout our growing school division. The RBT implements behavior intervention plans and skill acquisition programs under the ongoing supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The RBTs primary function is to reduce unsafe or disruptive behavior increase replacement behaviors and support student access to instruction in the least restrictive environment.
Assignments are primarily one-to-one with individual students. The RBT may be reassigned to support a different student classroom or school based on student stabilization safety needs and division priorities. Work locations and schedules are determined by the Office of Special Education.
Essential Functions:
- Implements individualized behavior intervention plans skill acquisition programs reinforcement systems and data collection systems as designed and supervised by a BCBA.
- Provides one-to-one support to students whose behavior is interfering with instruction safety or access to the learning environment.
- Promotes de-escalation replacement communication self-regulation and functional independence using approved strategies consistent with the students Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).
- Collects high-quality behavioral and instructional data (frequency duration ABC notes skill acquisition probes) in real time and submits data to the supervising BCBA as directed.
- Assists with fidelity checks by reporting when plans are not able to be implemented as written due to setting-level barriers.
- Collaborates with the BCBA and school-based staff to problem-solve barriers to implementation and to adjust supports in alignment with student needs.
- Participates in coaching and feedback sessions with the supervising BCBA including modeling role-play and live observation.

Education and Experience:
- Current active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Experience working directly with children or adolescents with developmental disabilities autism emotional and behavioral needs or other intensive support needs.
- Willingness and ability to receive regular in-person supervision from a BCBA.
- Ability to complete and maintain all required training including crisis response and division safety procedures.
Preferred
- Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university (education psychology social work applied behavior analysis or related field preferred).
- Experience delivering one-to-one or small-group instructional or behavioral supports in a public school setting.
- Prior experience implementing behavior intervention plans under BCBA supervision.
