Cook (Full-Time)

Come work for us as aCookat the ChildServeSpirit Cafe! Our team provides quality meals to children and families on our inpatient care units as well as meals for our Johnston staff. Some days youll be cooking some days youll be prepping. Agreat job if you like variety in your work!

Compensation
Starting pay rate for this position is between $16-17/hour commensurate with experience.

This role is full-time and eligible for health benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance paid time-off and a 403b retirement account. PTO starts accruing immediately and you get free meals!

Schedule:5am-1:30pm with every other weekend off (plus one weekday)

How Youll Make an Impact

• Follow daily menu
• Uses recipes for all food prepared
• Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so excellence quality temperature and appearance of food are preserved
• Greet customers with a positive friendly courteous attitude
• Provide information about the menu selections and pricing
• Problem solve by being a good listener to understand customer needs and being flexible with individuals for special needs yet follows our basic principles for pricing
• Operate cash register

What Youll Need

• In the process of getting high school diploma or GED; high school diploma/GED preferred
• Must be 18 years of age to use equipment
• Lift up to 50 lbs be mobile within the facilities and frequently bend lift reach and stand
• A minimum of six months experience as a cook in a health care facility restaurant or cafeteria or worked as a cooks assistant with on-the-job training is required
• Experience as a Prep Cook is preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading writing and speaking the English language
