Stone Cutter 1st Shift

Rock of Ages is seeking a Stone Cutter to join our production team in Graniteville VT. Our skilled craftsmen and craftswomen cut and transform stone into beautiful granite products for our valued customers across the U.S. and abroad.

This hands-on role requires precision attention to detail and a commitment to craftsmanship. The ideal candidate is self-motivated eager to learn and ready to contribute to the success of our team while developing new skills in stone fabrication.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Use a hammer and chisel to cut shape and finish a variety of stone products according to specifications.
• Ensure all cuts meet required dimensional and quality standards.
• Set up align and secure stone pieces for cutting.
• Maintain tools and work area in a safe and organized condition.
• Follow all safety quality and efficiency standards in daily operations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have an eye for detail and a strong sense of craftsmanship.
• Possess good physical condition and manual dexterity.
• Be comfortable reading blueprints and using measuring instruments accurately.
• Be motivated to learn and improve continuously.
• Be able to work effectively as part of a production team.
• Prior experience in stone cutting masonry or similar trades is preferred but candidates with experience in wood or metal finishing are encouraged to apply.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently walk. The role involves using hand tools and handling stone materials. Employees must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. with mechanical or team assistance provided for heavier loads.

Working Conditions:

• Employment status: Permanent / Full-time.
• Starting rate $21to $30/hour or higher depending on experience.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday with hours beginning either at 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. with the possibility of overtime.
