Your new role as our Procurement Specialist will be to contribute to the effective application of NZTAs procurement processes and practices through the planning and sourcing phases and supporting the management stage of the procurement life cycle. You will support the establishment and management of panel arrangements and secondary selection processes ensuring processes are consistent with established NZTA and government policies and in one of New Zealands largest public sector procuring agencies this role offers the opportunity to further develop your procurement career while supporting varied and interesting work.

The likely appointment range for this position is $91328 to $115000 depending on skills and experience.

Our ideal candidate will have some or all of the following (but dont worry if you dont tick every box).

Previous procurement experience working within a government or commercial environment.
Ability to rapidly understand and apply new procurement ideas and information.
Demonstrate understanding of government procurement policies rules and process.
Show understanding of contractual requirements and risk management techniques.
Exhibit strong relationship management skills across an organisation and with key internal and external stakeholders.
Good analytical and conceptual thinking skills and a developing level of commercial acumenthat can drive value for the organisation.
A tertiary qualification in a related discipline or equivalent experience is preferred and working towards a CIPS or similar qualification is desirable.

The Procurement function at NZTA is responsible for planning sourcing and managing the supply of external resources to NZTA. Procurement is an essential part of how NZTA delivers our critical business functions to support our strategic direction. Many functions of NZTA are performed in full or part using external suppliers and we are one of Aotearoa New Zealands largest public sector procuring agencies. NZTA is not only responsible for its own procurement requirements but it also leads procurement practice across much of the land transport sector.
