The Need

For over 25 years IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade IJMs Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% forvery largepopulations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500million people from violence we are seeking an Investigations & Law Enforcement Development (ILED)Intern to join the 2026 SummerInternship class.

TheILEDIntern willsupportvarious initiatives executed by theEND OSEC Center working to combat the online sexual exploitation of children. Tasksmayinclude:

  • Providing support to ongoing project activities and law enforcement trainings;

  • Assistingwith internal communication and partnership management;

  • Monitoring and implementing key ILED projects; and

  • Participating in departmental and general IJM administrative support.

This positioncan be fully in-person orhybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays)inthe Washington DC areaor remote for non-local candidates.It reports totheDirector Law Enforcement Capacity Building and Consulting.The positionrequires30-40 hoursper week primarily during the hours of 8:30am-5:30pm EST.

Summerinternship program dates are June 1 Aug. 7 2026.

General Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Applicants must have completed at leasttwoyears of relevant undergraduate study.

  • Experienceor interest in law or law enforcement.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Cross-cultural experience andcommunication skills.

*What is a statement of faith
A statement of faith should describe your Christian faith and how you see it as relevant to your involvement with IJM.The statement can either be incorporated into the cover letter or submitted as a separate document and should include at a minimum a description of your spiritual disciplines (prayer study etc.) and your current fellowship or place of worship.
