Job Summary

***MUST BE A CURRENT KLAMATH COUNTY EMPLOYEE IN THE PUBLIC WORKS ROAD DEPARTMENT***

General Position Summary

Manufactures installs and maintains road signs and pavement markings throughout the County road system

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education Certification & Experience
    • Experience in the operation of truck equipment associated with the operations of the Public Works Department; knowledge of care of vehicles equipment machines and tools required to perform the duties; practices methods hazards and safety precautions in the use of vehicles and equipment.
    • Valid Oregon Class A Commercial Drivers License
    • First Aid Certification
    • CPR Certification
    • Flagging Certificate
  • Knowledge Skills & Abilities
    • Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
    • Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement volume and distance.
    • Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    • While performing the duties of this Job the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stoop kneel crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Salary and Benefits

This is an hourly non-exempt position with a wage range of $24.98 $31.61 per hour. The pay range listed here reflects the FULL pay range for this position for the current fiscalyear. Salary offers are based on the candidates equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this Job the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Work Schedule

The normal work schedule is 8 hours per day 5 days per week; exact schedules are assigned by management. It is the attendance standard of the employer that all employees be present and on time each shift they are scheduled to work. Full or partial absence during any scheduled shift arriving late or leaving early for whatever reason may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. Time off may be approved if allowed by applicable policies covering illness injury or other personal emergency.
