Job Summary

Position Summary

The Division of Allied Health Sciences is seeking Part Time Hourly Instructors for our American Heart Association courses. As a part time AHA specialist you work with students at a college to provide the knowledge and training they need to be successful in their chosen career. Your ability to work on a course-by-course basis gives you the flexibility to choose when you want to work and when you dont.

Duties and Responsibilities

Typical duties of AHA instructors include but arent limited to:
Teach community & technical college students in a specific field of expertise and engage with students to help them learn.
Plan and execute the AHA curriculum
Grade students post AHA exams and practical skill evaluations
Properly fill out required rosters skill evaluations and other AHA paperwork
Advise students on how to be successful in class
Stay updated on innovations and changes within their course field

Minimum Qualifications

Education
High School Diploma required
Associates Degree or higher preferred
American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor in BLS for Healthcare Providers required
American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred

Experience
2 years of related experience in Healthcare (EMS Nursing etc.) preferred
1-year related experience American Heart Association classes preferred
Teaching experience preferred

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely while speaking and in writing
Ability to teach utilizing real-world experience
Can utilize email and other AV equipment
Understands how to utilize the AHA resources
Demonstrated passion about academic field and education in general

Adjunct pay dependent on degree level.
