Job Summary
Are you an experienced ambitious Year 2 Teacher looking for a Full-Time role from January 2026 A well-resourced Manchester primary is recruiting a Year 2 Teacher to take a class and lead strong outcomes in reading writing and mathematics. The successful Year 2 Teacher will take part in pre-term planning prior to January 2026 attend induction in January 2026 and be teaching from January 2026.

Role summary - Year 2 Teacher
The Year 2 Teacher will deliver a sequenced KS1 curriculum as the Year 2 Teacher lead guided reading and composed writing as the Year 2 Teacher and design mathematics lessons that build fluency and reasoning as the Year 2 Teacher. This Year 2 Teacher will moderate with colleagues run targeted booster groups and liaise with parents and external partners as the Year 2 Teacher. Planning begins before January 2026 and classroom teaching commences in January 2026.
Year 2 Teacher Requirements
QTS/PGCE (or equivalent) with proven KS1 impact as the Year 2 Teacher.
Strong phonics knowledge and the ability to scaffold learning as the Year 2 Teacher.
Availability for pre-term planning before January 2026 induction in January 2026 and to start teaching from January 2026 as the Year 2 Teacher.
Year 2 Teacher Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality reading writing and mathematics as the Year 2 Teacher.
Use assessment to personalise learning and run targeted interventions as the Year 2 Teacher.
Communicate effectively with parents and contribute to curriculum development as the Year 2 Teacher. The Year 2 Teacher will also support transition activities scheduled after January 2026.
