Job Summary

The Team Lead Food Processing Operator is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily production activities within the food processing department. This role ensures that production targets are achieved efficiently safely and in compliance with all food safety and quality standards. The Team Lead provides leadership training and support to production staff while promoting a positive and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and Coordinate Production:
    Oversee daily operations of the food processing line ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to production schedules.

  • Performance Management:
    Monitor team performance provide guidance and ensure production goals and quality standards are consistently met.

  • Food Safety & Hygiene Compliance:
    Enforce strict adherence to food safety regulations sanitation practices and company hygiene protocols.

  • Training & Development:
    Train new employees on production processes safety procedures and equipment operation; provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.

  • Troubleshooting & Equipment Oversight:
    Identify and resolve minor equipment issues; report and escalate complex mechanical problems to maintenance or management as necessary.

  • Documentation & Reporting:
    Maintain accurate records of production outputs downtime and quality checks; prepare and submit daily or shift reports as required.

  • Health & Safety Leadership:
    Promote a culture of safety ensuring that all team members follow workplace health and safety policies at all times.

  • Team Collaboration:
    Foster effective communication and teamwork among staff and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in food manufacturing or processing operations with at least X years in a leadership or supervisory role.

  • Strong understanding of food safety standards (e.g. HACCP GMP) and workplace safety protocols.

  • Excellent organizational communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to lead motivate and mentor a diverse team in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Proficient in completing production documentation and using relevant software or reporting tools.
