Job Type: Permanent
Guaranteed Hours: (25 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)

Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures in an ambulatory and/or hospital setting under the general supervision of a Radiologist or Physician. The technologist utilizes independent judgment ingenuity and initiative to perform high-quality ultrasound exams to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and injury following established protocols and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations with a focus on OB/GYN imaging including obstetric gynecologic and other specialized studies as requested by the physician.
Operate ultrasound equipment and ensure quality imaging results through proper positioning technique and documentation.
Prepare patients for procedures explain processes and ensure comfort and safety throughout the exam.
Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and proper documentation before submission to the radiologist for interpretation.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and facility protocols.
Assist physicians during ultrasound-guided procedures as needed.
Maintain and calibrate equipment reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
Adhere to all infection control and safety policies.

Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience:

Less than 1 year of ultrasound experience required.

Certifications/Licensure:

Basic Life Support (BLS): Required upon hire or within 30 days of start date.
Must hold one of the following active credentials:
- ARDMS: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) OB/GYN (OB) Abdomen (AB) or Breast (BR)
- ARRT: Registered Technologist in Sonography (ARRT-S) or Breast Sonography (ARRT-BS)
- CCI: Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS)
- RVT: Registered Vascular Technologist
