Speech Language Pathologist (Contract Role)
- Location: Utica NY 13502
- Duration: 13-weeks contract
- Shift: 8-hr Days 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Weekly Pay Rate: $2800 $2960; (Negotiable based on experience)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Acute Care team in Utica NY on a 13-week contract. The ideal candidate will assess diagnose and treat speech language communication and swallowing disorders in adult patients within an acute care setting.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech language cognitive and swallowing evaluations for patients in acute care.
- Provide individualized treatment plans to improve communication and swallowing function.
- Perform swallowing bedside evaluations; video fluoroscopy experience is preferred but not required.
- Collaborate closely with physicians nurses and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate clinical records in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and families on treatment goals and therapy techniques.
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences as required.
Required Requirements:
- Active New York State Speech Language Pathologist license (required).
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) (required).
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care or hospital-based experience preferred.
- Proficiency in swallowing assessments and treatment required.
- Strong communication critical thinking and organizational skills.

- Travel Requirement: 75-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within 75 miles considered at local pay rates.
