Summary:

Perform complex trade studies modeling simulations and analyses to predict component interconnect and system performance optimizing designs for Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) performance.
Work under minimal direction to achieve Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) of electronics wiring and structures.
Interface with manufacturing on complex E3 design aspects; coordinate with suppliers to ensure system-level compatibility.
Report progress achievements and technical issues to program management and customers.
Support project management through coordination of work statements budgets schedules and reviews.
Develop and implement test automation for aircraft modifications.
Apply EMI engineering expertise to document and resolve complex technical issues.
Perform analyses and simulations to optimize component and system performance.
Apply conversion correction and antenna factors to EMI/EMC analyses and testing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings in internal and external reviews.
Process and present engineering data in tables charts and reports.

Requirements:

Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance is required.
Interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start required.
Bachelors degree in Engineering Computer Science Mathematics Physics or Chemistry and typically 5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Masters 3 years Ph.D.).
Familiarity with electromagnetic concepts such as RF isolation shielding grounding and filtering.
Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

ABET-accredited Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a Masters/Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
Active U.S. Security Clearance.
Experience in the defense or aerospace industry.
Knowledge of MIL-STD-461/464 and/or DO-160 EMI/EMC standards.
Experience with Aerospace Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3).
Experience with EMI qualification testing for aircraft LRUs including reviewing procedures and test reports.
Familiarity with aircraft-level E3 requirements and test methods (MIL-STD-464).
Knowledge of electrical bonding best practices for E3 compliance.
Foundation in RF systems and/or computational E3 analytical software tools.
ABET accreditation preferred though not required.
