Position: Controls Technician / PLC Technician
Location: Meriden CT - 06450
Duration: 12 Months
Job Type: Temporary Assignment
Work Type: Onsite
Shift Timings: 11:00 AM to 07:00 PM
Summary
The role involves troubleshooting maintaining repairing and improving electrical control and automation systems within a manufacturing or production environment. The position requires hands-on experience with PLCs robotics and network systems along with mechanical and fabrication capabilities. The technician will also perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure smooth operation of production and facility equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot repair maintain and improve electrical/control/automation systems including:
  • Drive control components I/O PLC devices & logic
  • Field control devices
  • Network systems and communication
  • Robotics
  • Conduct preventive predictive and corrective maintenance on:
  • Web handling production equipment
  • Ultrasonic welders pleaters pumps and heat exchangers
  • Building HVAC systems and facility utilities
  • Document maintenance activities in tracking systems.
  • Develop and refine standard work procedures for maintenance operations.
  • Perform basic welding machining and fabrication using shop equipment power tools and precision measurement instruments.
Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or within 6 months of completing a two-year technical degree or certificate in a related field (Mechanical Mechatronics Industrial Electronics Robotics & Automation etc.).
  • Minimum 3 years of PLC programming experience in a private public government or military environment.
  • Availability to work rotating weekends overtime and holidays as needed.
  • Maintenance or Facilities experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical prints.
  • Basic understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance and condition monitoring techniques.
