Westfalia Fruit has expanded its bursary scheme to provide educational funding for external students communities surrounding our operations and local disadvantaged schools as part of this legacy.
The Westfalia Educational Bursary Scheme provides opportunity to deserving students who excel academically to apply for Westfalia Educational Bursary for 2026 academic year. Applicants must have completed Grade 12 and intend to pursue undergraduate studies in agriculture or related fields at a university university of technology or TVET college. The following disciplines will be considered:
- Agricultural Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Environmental
- Horticulture
- Soil Science
- Plant Production
- Food Science
- Biotechnology
- Microbiology
- Plant Pathology
- Agricultural Sciences
- Entomology
- Plant Genetics
- Finance
- Logistics
- Supply Chain
- Communication
- Human Resources
- Medicine
- Nursing
- Teaching
- Technical Engineering studies: Fitting & Turning Mechatronics Boilermaking and Millwright
Where funds permit the programme will also consider students from local communities who want to study community benefit fields such as medicine nursing and teaching. Priority will be given to candidates from the communities where Westfalia operates.
RequirementsREQUIREMENTS FOR WESTFALIA EDUCATION BURSARIES
- Candidates who wish to apply for any of the aforementioned bursary opportunities must have the following:
- Candidates must be South African citizen with valid ID.
- The candidate must be in Grade 12 or have completed Grade 12.
- Candidates must be pre-approved by an Institute of Higher Learning.
- Candidates must be in-need of financial assistance.
- Candidates must have an outstanding academic record.
- Candidates must be willing to study full-time.
Interested individuals should submit their application forms together with following supporting documents:
- Certified ID copy
- Certified Mid-term or Grade 12 results
- Proof of acceptance or Pre-approval letter from institution of higher learning
- Proof of residence (Municipal letter or Tribal Authority letter)
