The Freeman School of Business at Tulane University invites applications for a full-time non-tenure system faculty position in Management Communications which is part of the Business and Legal Studies Area. The appointment at the rank of Professor or Practice or Lecturer may be for one two or three years beginning July 1 2026. Salary teaching load and benefits are competitive with other major research institutions. Hiring for this position is subject to final budgetary approval by the University.
We seek outstanding oral written and interpersonal communication skills. Specifically the ideal candidate will have professional practice in leadership and persuasive communications communication skills training and/or interpersonal dynamics facilitation. The candidate will teach audience analysis persuasion and influence strategy and structure data storytelling executive presence interpersonal dynamics and managerial writing.
Professors of Practice and Lecturers at the Freeman School deliver rigorous undergraduate and graduate courses often with an experiential learning focus and are expected to remain active in their fields through professional and scholarly activities. Service to the Freeman School and Tulane University is also expected.
Candidates are expected to be either professionally qualified (i.e. Masters Degree or Ph.D. in Communication Organizational Behavior Rhetoric or a related field with a substantial record of recentprofessional experience) or academically qualified (i.e. Ph.D. in those fields and actively engaged in scholarly and/or professional engagement activities). We seek collegial candidates with demonstrated excellence in communication skills and/or success in classroom teaching experience with experiential learning and the ability to build relationships with industry partners.
