Overview
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician for oursenior living communities in NE Minneapolis.
This is a 40 hours per week M-F position that works day time hours and includes periodic on-call rotation.
The Maintenance and Facilities Technician is responsible for the maintenance needs of Catholic Eldercare facilities. The Maintenance Tech works as part of a team to install service repair and troubleshoot building equipment and systems to a high safety standard. The Maintenance Tech is on-call in rotation with other maintenance staff for issues outside of normal business hours.

Responsibilities
The Maintenance and Facilities Technician will:
1. Maintain all equipment required to fulfill the requirements of the position.
2. Perform mechanical skills including but not limited to mechanical electrical heating pneumatic hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of machines.
3. Prepare areas for painting installation wall coverings and paint inside and outside of the facility.
4. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
5. Attend to and resolve work requests in a timely manner and be accountable to the team.
6. Complete maintenance on machines equipment and plant facilities.
7. Perform plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
8. Use and maintain hand and power tools electric meters and material handling equipment.
9. Work with vendors to purchase supplies and services required by the facility.
10. Crosstrain with other members of Maintenance team on interior duties.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Three or more years of building maintenance experience in a self-directed capacity.
Must have intermediate to advanced skills in written and spoken English.
Must be able to pass NetStudy background check.
Must be able to regularly lift 75 pounds.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Four or more years previous maintenance experience.
Completion of a craft apprenticeship or educational certification.
Pneumatics hydraulic mechanical and industrial skill development experience.
Boilers License or ability to obtain.
Experience repairing small machines.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail with concern for quality and safety.
Critical thinking skills that include ability to identify and resolve problems as they arise.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with residents families coworkers vendors and others that may have varying socioeconomic cultural and educational differences.
Flexibility to adjust workload based on the needs of a collaborative team.
