The Registered Nurse (RN) - Adult Psych provides compassionate evidence-based nursing care to adult psychiatric patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting. This role is responsible for assessing planning implementing and evaluating individualized patient care ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment that promotes recovery and well-being. The RN serves as a clinical leader on the unit coordinating with interdisciplinary teams and supervising assigned staff to deliver high-quality mental health care.
Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to adult psychiatric patients ensuring adherence to treatment plans and safety protocols.
Assess patient needs document care plans and monitor progress throughout the course of treatment.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments while observing for side effects and therapeutic outcomes.
Collaborate with physicians therapists and support staff to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
Supervise and delegate tasks to support staff ensuring safe and effective care delivery.
Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary maintaining a calm and safe environment.
Support unit initiatives for quality improvement safety and clinical competency.
Serve as a professional role model mentor and advocate for the discipline of nursing.
Education:
Graduate of a state-approved or accredited school of nursing.
Licensure:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts (or eligibility to obtain).
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience preferably in adult psychiatric or behavioral health settings.
Education:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Nursing (BSN/MSN) preferred.
