The chemicals pricing team is a dynamic and expanding team responsible for key pricing benchmarks.

Covering the market in the chemicals team involves starting work by 9am am local time. The price reporter will typically be able to finish work by 5pm depending on commodity market conditions.


Responsibilities and Impact:

The Senior Price Reporter is responsible for reporting on daily physical trading activity. The market reporter will gather test and publish price information in real-time and obtain an understanding of supply-demand fundamentals through daily interactions with primary market participants. They will also conduct price assessments based on established methodology contribute to its development and write and lead insightful market commentaries news and analysis pieces. The reporter is also expected to participate in multi-media coverage such as webinars and presentations including representing Commodity Insights at industry events.

The reporter is also responsible for engaging with market participants while building and managing a database of industry contacts. The reporter also identifies opportunities to refine methodology and launch new price assessments with the goal to advance growth in the Chemicals team.

  • You will also have the chance to represent CI in face-to-face meetings in webinars podcasts or other interviews.
  • You will assist in identifying developing and executing assessment opportunities to drive growth in chemical markets across Latin America and the US.

What Were Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of role types and personalities internally and externally
  • Self-starter mindset with effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform well to tight deadlines
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills
  • Culturally and socially sensitive

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or knowledge of the chemicals polymer or refining sectors or a keen interest in commodities and global commodity markets
  • Knowledge of economic principles
  • Strong numeracy skills including ability to understand the basic principles of statistics.
  • Written and oral fluency in Spanish and English is a must Portuguese will be a plus.
