Meet the team:

Join our Manufacturing Equipment Engineering team at the San Diego Innovation Center of Excellence to support the development of products and processes and transfer into operations. As a Sr Hardware Engineer you will be responsible for day-to-day technical support for pilot plant operations and support process and equipment enhancements.

Where you come in:

  • Provides direct operations equipment support to manufacturing areas and carries out hands-on investigation and troubleshooting of equipment issues.
  • Uses structured problem solving drives engineering studies using DMAIC methodology and statistical data analysis.
  • Supports the development and commissioning of pilot-level standalone fixtures and semi-automated or automated equipment. Requires design and hands-on experience with automated assembly cells/machines.
  • Develop test plans protocols and reports to ensure designs meet product and part specifications regulatory requirements and applicable standards for new equipment and processes including IQ/OQ/PQ protocols
  • Performs validation IQ/OQ/PQ protocols test protocols ensures equipment/processes meet specifications performance regulatory and business requirements.
  • Collaborates and communicates with company interdepartmental groups including Quality Assurance R&D ITOT and Process Engineering to provide documentation and operational support.
  • Collaborates with R&D by providing technical support of new products and processes.
  • Support the commissioning and sustaining of new equipment changes.

What makes you successful:

  • Experience in working with PLC HMI robotics and vision systems.
  • Experience in connecting and integrating equipment with IT/OT data infrastructures to support real-time data acquisition
  • Experience with large-scale Relational Databases (SQL) and modern programming languages (Python preferred)
  • Experience with applying statistical tools used to assist in the development and troubleshooting of products and processes.
  • Analyze manufacturing failures of mechanical components sub-assemblies and instruments and provide corrective and preventative solutions and actions.
  • Ability to remain adaptable and flexible in a changing environment. Able to complete assigned task(s) working both independently and with a team.

Experience and Education Requirements:

Typically requires a Bachelors degreein a technical discipline and a minimum
of 2-5 years related experience orMasters degree and 0-2 yearsequivalent experience.
