Pima Countys Department of Finance and Risk Management seeks a motivated and detail-oriented part-time intern to join our Grants Finance Division. This internship offers hands-on experience in governmental grant accounting financial reporting and compliance providing valuable exposure to how federal state and local funds are managed. Duties may include assisting with the review and reconciliation of grant expenditures revenues and budgets; supporting the preparation of grant billings and financial reports; helping track grant award data; conducting research and analysis related to grant compliance; assisting with internal process documentation; supporting audits; and performing other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications will be determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.

Preferred Qualifications: (Be specific in describing your experience in your application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):

  • Pursuing or recently graduated with a bachelors degree (or higher) in accounting or finance.

  • Current Junior or Senior enrolled at an accredited college or university or have graduated from an accredited institution within the past 12 months.

  • Experience in grant accounting.

Selection Procedure:
Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.

Supplemental Information:

Licenses and Certificates: Some positions require a valid Arizona Class D driver license at the time of application or appointment. Failure to maintain the required licensure shall be grounds for termination.
